4 Nephi 1

2 And it came to pass in the thirty and sixth year, the people were all converted unto the Lord, upon all the face of the land, both Nephites and Lamanites, and there were no contentions and disputations among them, and every man did deal justly one with another.

3 And they had all things common among them;

   

   Serving in this mission is a little like that. Today we served at the Smith Farm and Sacred Grove. We had a bus scheduled at 10:15 a.m. That can get a little tricky when you only have three missionary sets to handle both the bus plus the walk-ins. It’s sometimes tricky enough with just the walk-ins. During our preparation meeting Elder Harrison stopped in and said he saw the bus and the low number of scheduled missionaries and thought he’d come over and help. Elder Smith did the same. They both had assignments shortly after this, but they still came to help.

   All things in common includes each others’ time. Serving a mission is a lot like the scriptural descriptions of Zion.
