I enjoy seeing what people wear that identifies their loyalties. Sports teams gear is one loyalty identifier. If I see someone wearing a Cubs cap or a Red Sox shirt, I’m likely speak to them. College-branded gear also identifies our loyalties.
Other loyalty identifiers are Harley Davidson-labeled or Sturgis branded gear, or motorcycle group colors. These are often accompanied by hair and grooming styles to fit the identity. Add to these rainbow pride apparel, MAGA caps, and “Freedom” shirts. All of these demonstrate loyalty to teams, schools, products, lifestyles, and social views.
I sometimes wear Garcia neckties that identify me as a Grateful Dead fan. Deadheads have other apparel that points out their loyalty, like tie-dyes, etc.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have made sacred covenants in one of the many temples located around the world wear a sacred garment. This underclothing isn’t displayed for the world to see, but it identifies to Jesus that He is our primary loyalty. Wearing it appropriately and regularly shows Him that we value His sacrifice, His teachings, and His ordinances above other considerations. It is a sweet, humble recognition of His deep influence on us.
